For the past 15 years, Richard Chartier has art directed and designed cutting edge works and cultivated notoriety for his clean minimal formalist aesthetic in graphics and typography. His extensive experience in print design and art direction including logos, posters, invitations, books, fliers, packaging, annual reports, and magazines as well as website art direction has led him to work with a multitude of non-profit art, culture, environmental and educational institutions and groups as well as for corporations and individuals.

Prior to his art direction/design consulting work over the past decade, he served as senior designer and assistant art director for the non profit organizations the Academy for Educational Development, the American Association of University Women, and VSA Arts. Chartier holds a Bachelor's of Fine Arts Degree in Graphic Design and Painting from James Madison University. His design work has been exhibited galleries in Europe and Canada with the touring design exhibits 35mm/design in miniature, VS., and Apocrypha, and has been featured in numerous books on international contemporary design.
